Diesel and Petrol Part 2

Here we go again! But are we any closer to agreeing on what is the best fuel type for our precious used vans? Ok let’s look at the facts; diesel fuelled van engines use less fuel than petrol van engines. Therefore, this will save money....... in the long run and especially if you travel many short journeys. On the other hand then – travelling longer journeys enhances the claim that petrol is more of an asset.

So if you are a driver that clocks up many miles over shorter distances, it seems Diesel is the choice for you in terms of both fuel efficiency and vehicle sell on value. If you are willing to put up with the vibrations and the noise of the engine then even better! So what else do we know? Petrol will offer a better acceleration than diesel fuelled vans but the debate as to what is faster ‘top end’ is another, which has been a hot topic for some time. But, that’s for another day guys.
