Lotus Exige – The Responsive Lotus
Lotus describes this car as being the purest of the breed. Looking at it from the outside it is clearly evident that it is a Lotus due to the distinct design and style that is part of every Lotus vehicle. The Exige is part of a hand built manufacturing process like all of the other Lotus cars and it is also light in weight and handles superbly; again like other Lotus units in the range. It is a fun car to drive and certainly looks the part when stationed or in full motion. Available in two model variations; the new and used Lotus Exige S and the Exige Cupe 260, it really is a likeable little vehicle that delivers fantastic levels of performance for a two seated and two door sports car. What the latest version of the Exige provides is a restyled front and a lower rear wing, which reduces drag. It can also be said that this wing provides a fuller look and feel, which makes the vehicle look very robust. In terms of overall performance, the Exige has some rather impressive statistics such as 0 to 60 mph in as little as 4.7 seconds, 0 to 100 mph in only 12.9 seconds and a top speed of up to 147 miles per hour. With this in mind then it will come as no surprise to hear that this particular Lotus unit offers only 24 miles to the gallon – so expect to be making regular visits to the petrol station if driving regularly!
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque – The Latest Addition
To add to an already glowing range of new and used Land Rover cars, there is a new model in town in the form of the Range Rover Evoque, which now proudly sits alongside the standard Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. Land Rover are promoting the Evoque as being smart, strong, spacious and efficient, which seems to be quite accurate when taking into consideration what the vehicle has to offer. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is a Coupe that has been highly anticipated and will certainly create big demand in the industry. In terms of size it is the smallest Range Rover ever made as well as being the most fuel efficient. At the same time it is the lightest and most economically friendly with only 130g/km of Co2 emissions. Many critics say that this new model marks a point of new standards set by Land Rover who had previously promised to make their future cars more in line with economical requirements. Well they have certainly done this with the new Range Rover Evoque, which really does set new standards for the company. Land Rover says that it marks an evolution of the Range Rover design by providing a Coupe design that still maintains the form of an SUV. From a personal point of view this new addition to the Land Rover armoury really is a bold and interesting step for the company and it reminds me of when Porsche introduced the Cayenne, which too was something a little out of the ordinary. Maybe then the Evoque will have a similar success?
New Jeep Grand Cherokee S-Limited
The Grand Cherokee, as recognised by many, is one of Jeep’s main models in the brand’s expanding range of vehicles. This is an auto that has been around for what seems like a lifetime and has many accolades to its name that mark some if its achievements. Now though, buyers have a new alternative to the original used Jeep Grand Cherokee as they can now purchase the all new S-Limited version, which really does offer some good improvements. Its exterior look is much sportier and gives off a feel that it is very much an upgraded version of the standard version of the vehicle. The interior has also been improved as more prestigious materials have been used. The engine that is in place is a 3.0 litre turbo diesel that delivers good rates of power and provides an all round good performance. In terms of other additional features that are available, the Jeep Grand Cherokee S-Limited offers leather trimmed sports seats that are also heated, privacy glass, park assistance for the front and rear, eighteen inch alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, Xenon headlamps and a multimedia system with a thirty gigabyte hard drive that operates using a touch screen. So the benefits are there for all to see and make the S-Limited version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee a new contender to the king of the 4x4 class. And from less that £34,000, it also makes for an attractable purchase when compared to some of the other vehicles regarded as its competitor.
Chevrolet Cruze – Providing the Art of Inspiration
Now this is a car that really does stand out from the pack. And with a ‘best-in-class’ Euro NCAP five star rating, it is clear to see why! However, whilst the safety of passengers is one of the main highlights of the new and used Chevrolet Cruze – it is not the only positive point that this vehicle offers. It can be described as being a car that looks simple but slick, compact but steady and cheap but decent. The Cruze offers many features that are above average for a car of its price and includes many articulate elements in its exterior such as a good Coupe styling, strong front grille and swept headlamps. As for the cars’ other features there is ABS, ESC CD / Radio, and electric windows for the standard version; front and read power windows, front fog lights and rear park assist for the LS version; and cruise control, seventeen inch alloy wheels and CD / Radio with CD changer for the LT version. So therefore, buyers certainly have a good range of options to choose from regarding their Cruze from Chevrolet, and now is certainly a very good time to buy. Why you may ask? Well as of only a few months ago, Chevrolet is now offering five years warranties on all their new cars as well as five years roadside assistance and free servicing. They also provide annual vehicle checks and offer an MOT test warranty until the car is five years old. Five (5) is definitely the number of 2010 for Chevrolet!
BMW Z4 – An Expression of Sheer Joy
When BMW released their new Z4 model in 2009, it was met with mixed views from those in the industry. This was probably a natural and expected reaction because the previous model was such a success, and therefore, sceptics are always on the prowl! However, the new BMW Z4 has since gone on to make quite an impression and has now established itself as a firm contender in the Roadster class. With two variations of the model available, the standard and the M Sport, this is a BMW car that really does mark many improvements on the older used BMW units of the past (including the earlier used BMW Z4). However, buyers can choose many different trim levels from these two models such as the Z4 sDrive23i, Z4 sDrive30i, Z4 sDrive35i and the equivalent but in the M Sport. Therefore, choices are available to suit different drivers and their expectations when driving. Whilst the performance of the vehicle is might impressive, it is surely the exterior style that makes the new Z4 stand out. Of course it now occupies a rather nice hardtop, which is probably one of the main attractions. The previous model was mainly purchased as a soft top even though a hard top version was available. However, the soft top is no longer an option with the new version, which is probably the choice as it adds that little bit extra in terms of security. In summary, the new BMW Z4 is very much an expression of sheer joy.
